MM Tel-U Initiates Collaboration with 3 Malaysian Universities

On January 22-23, 2019, MM Tel-U represented by Dr. Ratri Wahyuningtyas as Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs and Siska Noviaristati, Ph.D as Head of MM Tel-U Study Program departed for Malaysia to initiate collaborative development study program with 3 Malaysian Universities namely University College Sedaya International (UCSI), University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), and Multimedia University (MMU).

UCSI is a private university in Malaysia with main campus located in Kuala Lumpur. UCSI also has campuses located in Terengganu and Sarawak. UCSI has been established since 1986 under the name Canadian Institute of Computer Studies and then changed its name to Sedaya College and then in 2008 received a degree as a University and changed its name to University College Sedaya International (UCSI). Collaboration with UCSI will be carried out primarily for student / faculty mobility programs and research collaboration.

University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is a multi-campus engineering university with center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Has a rating as the “Excellent University” tier-5 from the Department of Education Malaysia in 2009, 2011 and 2013. UniKL has 14 institutions spread over 12 campuses in Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Cheras, Bangi, Kajang, Sepang, Taboh Naning, Pasir Gudang, Ipoh, Lumut and Kulim. MM Tel-U will collaborate on the MM-MBA double degree program which will soon be realized in the coming semester.

Multimedia University (MMU) is the first private university in Malaysia and is a higher education institution under the University of Telekom Sdn Bhd (UTSB). The number of MMU students is more than 20,000. The university has two main campuses located in the historic city of Melaka, and one more campus is in Cyberjaya. The university has 24,000 international students from 75 countries. The university offers undergraduate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate preparation programs. MMU has 13 Research Centers, which focus on the fields of nanotechnology, microsystems, biometry, virtual reality, microwave and telecommunications, engineering, photonics, advanced robotics and business. With MMU agreeing to procure an International Conference for the Masters Management level in July 2019. This conference is an annual conference which will be held alternately MMU and MM Tel-U.

MM Tel-U also offers collaborative research conducted by MM lecturers. Specifically Dr. Noor Ashakin, MMU lecturer was interested in collaborating with the sociopreneurship team led by Dr. Ratna L Nugroho with a focus on trash management research. And from UCSI wants to do collaborative research on water management and smart city that is carried by Indrawati, Ph.D. This initiation is an effort to achieve the MM internationalization program. “Hopefully the MM internationalization program can be more advanced,” said Mrs. Siska after a visit from Malaysia.
